DocScan privacy policy

Effective 15 October 2026. DocScan is made by Viantik, India.

In short

What DocScan does with your files

DocScan turns pages you scan, and photos or PDFs you pick, into PDFs and pictures. You choose each file yourself, using the camera or your phone's file picker. Your files are processed and saved on your device. DocScan does not upload them to us and we cannot see them.

The page scanner is provided by Google through Google Play services. Google states that it runs on your device. Google's own terms and privacy policy apply to that service.

Documents you create are stored in the app on your phone. If you delete a document, or uninstall DocScan, they are removed from the app.

Information collected by services we use

DocScan itself does not ask you to sign in or give your name or email. Some services built into the app handle limited information to do their job.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your scans or photos for advertising.

Your choices

Your rights

Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK or California, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to how it is used. DocScan does not keep personal information about you on servers of ours. If you think we hold something about you, or you want to use a right, write to us and we will reply.

Children

DocScan is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

How long we keep information

We keep no personal information about DocScan users on our own servers. Information handled by Google services is kept as described in Google's policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
